zMaud of Leaskdale
The venue is the original Presbyterian Church in Leaskdale. LM Montgomery's husband, Ewan MacDonald, was the Pastor at the church from 1911 to 1926. The sanctuary, where the play is performed remains as it was in those years. The basement of the church offers an extensive LMM collection and is used for intermission refreshments. Seating for all events is in the original pews. Experience the life of Lucy Maud Montgomery during her first 15 years in Ontario (1911-1926), when she became a devoted mother, a world famous author, and the loyal wife of a Presbyterian minister. It was a time of simple joys and heart-rending tragedy, brought to life through Montgomery's own powerful words. Ticket prices (General Admission) are: $25.00 for adults, $20.00 for students and seniors including all taxes and processing fees. ~ Dinner theater. "Maud's Island Dinner" Thurs July 24th at 6 pm.
