Workshop: A Recipe for Great Characters with Ruth Walker

Venue: Blue Heron Studio

9:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Event Description: Join award-winning writer, Ruth E. Walker, for a fun approach to developing characters for fiction, memoir and non-fiction work. Using the theme of recipes, participants toss together a number of ingredients to create a character by the end of the session. Lots of hands-on exercises to experiment with character development and story ideas. Suitable for all levels of writers looking for a fresh take on inspiration. The workshop runs from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm.

Author Bio:

Ruth Walker

Since 1996, when her first submission of fiction won Canadian Living magazine’s short story contest, Ruth has been an award-winning author of fiction, plays, and poetry appearing widely in publications across Canada, in the US and the UK. She is also a creative writing instructor and a founding editor of the literary journal Lichen.

All tickets are general admission - Seating is on a first-come first-served basis.
